The 4-Hour Focus: Why This Australian Bridge Player Switched to HuskeeSteel for Long Tournaments

For anyone involved in tournament hobbies or extended brain sports, concentration is everything. But there is a silent opponent at almost every venue: terrible, lukewarm event coffee.

For our customer, the challenge was two-fold: the coffee provided at their bridge club lacked quality, and standard reusable cups simply couldn't hold their temperature long enough to span a full afternoon of competitive play.  

"I wanted a lightweight but strong insulated mug because I play bridge for several hours at a time and travel," they explained. "The coffee at bridge is not great, so this way I can make my own and take it with me."

To see how the HuskeeSteel handled a real-world tournament environment, we tracked its performance across a standard bridge afternoon.  

Phase 1: The Commute 

The test begins at home, where the cup is filled with a home-brewed coffee. The HuskeeSteel is sealed and placed in the car's cup holder, where it fits cleanly for the trip. The journey to the venue takes 15 to 20 minutes before the customer takes their very first sip—at which point the coffee remains piping hot.  

Phase 2: Surviving the Tournament
